Bengalore City Ride operates this website and the cab service booked through it. This policy explains what we collect when you book a trip, why we need it, who sees it and how you can have it removed.
1. Information we collect
When you use the booking form or the enquiry form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your mobile number
- Your email address, if you provide one
- Pickup and drop locations, and the airport terminal or package you select
- Travel date and time, and return date for round trips
- Any message or special instruction you add to the enquiry
We do not ask for and do not store card, UPI or bank details on this website. No online payment is taken at the time of booking.
2. Why we need it
We use these details only to quote a fare, confirm your trip, assign a driver and contact you about that trip - by phone call, WhatsApp message, SMS or email. We also keep a record of completed bookings for our own accounts and for handling any later query about a trip.
3. WhatsApp and email
When you submit a booking, its details are sent to our operator's WhatsApp number and by email to our booking mailbox. If you provide an email address, a copy of the booking confirmation is also sent to you. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and messages sent through it are handled under Meta's own privacy terms, which we do not control.
4. Who your details are shared with
The driver assigned to your trip is given your name, mobile number and pickup and drop details so the trip can be carried out. Where a trip is served by a partner operator, the same details are shared with them for that trip only.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information where we are required to by law or by a lawful request from an authority.
5. Service providers
This website runs on third-party hosting and email infrastructure, and those providers process the data on our behalf in order to deliver the service. They are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.
6. How long we keep it
Booking records are retained for as long as we need them for accounting and for answering queries about past trips. Enquiries that do not result in a booking are cleared once they are no longer being followed up.
7. Cookies
This website uses a session cookie so the booking form can carry your selections from one step to the next, and a security token cookie to protect form submissions. These are required for the site to work. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
8. Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete your details, or to stop contacting you, by emailing bengalurucityride@gmail.com or calling +91 9019502143. Please include your booking reference (it begins with BCR) so we can find the right record. Where we are required to keep a record for accounting purposes, we will tell you.
9. Security
This website is served over HTTPS and access to booking records is limited to the people who operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.
10. Children
Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Children may of course travel with us as passengers on a booking made by an adult.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any change is published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
